I wouldn’t hesitate to say that Panama is now getting much worse. There are three simple things that indicate it:
#1. The effective reproductive number climbed up to 1.63, reported on Tuesday 23rd June.
#2. The Minister of Health left the government and the Vice-Minister of Health became the Minister, announced on Wednesday 24th June.
#3. The number of confirmed positive cases of the last 24 hours reached 1007, exceeding a thousand for the first time in the nation, reported Today, Thursday 25th June.
* Total accumulated number is now 29,037. The population is 4.2 millions. It means roughly 1 of each 150 persons has gotten infected by Today in total.
** The number of active cases is 13,673. Approximately 1 of each 300 persons is currently infected now.
I honestly got surprised and shocked by #2. This made me feel sooooo anxious of this country.
